Wynken, Blynken, & Nod

The best part of this adaptation of the classic children's poem by Eugene Field was getting to paint the whole thing in dreamy blue washes and researching Dutch architecture to continue the wooden shoe theme. When I look at these illustrations now I am intrigued that five years later I would have triplets, two girls and a boy, the same characters I portrayed in this book. It remains a popular choice in children’s books to this day, though it was released more than 30 years ago!
